Romantic San Diego Engagement Photos
When it comes to engagement photos, finding a location that resonates with the couple's story can make all the difference! Connecting to the location can bring out the true moments during a session. For Jen and Jimmy, Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, CA, was the perfect place to capture their love. As well as having part of their session on a sailboat to add some fun to their San Diego engagement photos.
Jen and Jimmy’s San Diego Engagement Photos
Jen and Jimmy’s engagement session started with such a fun adventure on a sailboat. Here, I captured relaxed, and casual photos for them. They brought multiple outfits to be able to capture different looks throughout their session! After our time on the sailboat, the Sunset Cliffs were the perfect way to end our evening since these photos were more romantic! We adventured down onto the beach and played down there for a bit. On the beach I was able to capture the more authentic and special moments between them, and it felt like a true celebration of their love where we were able to pop champagne and celebrate this new chapter of their lives.
Choosing a location for your Engagement session
Jen and Jimmy are a recently engaged couple from San Diego, CA. When planning their session, I wanted to make sure that we chose a location that was special to them and they felt connected to. When Jen and I were chatting about their session, she told me the Sunset Cliffs were very special to their relationship because that’s where Jimmy had proposed to her just a couple months prior! I wanted their session to take them back to that happy time and be a place that naturally brings out fun and happy feelings for them.
In addition to this, we wanted to do something fun and decided to do the first portion of our session on a sailboat. A secondary location can be added on to any session, and it is a great way to add variety to a gallery. Having multiple locations for your San Diego engagement photos can incorporate different backdrops and atmospheres, which can bring out different emotions and memories! For example, while on a sailboat, it brings out the fun and adventurousness while the Sunset Cliffs captured the couple's deep fun-loving spirit and shows off their connection to the place.

Omg Kelsey!!! These are amazing, we can’t even decide on which ones our favorites are 🥹 🥹 we’re not models but we definitely feel likes ones right now 😍 😭 I love the sunset cliffs ones the best I think, probably just because we could freely move around a bit more,but those boat ones are knocking my socks off too! Haha thank you soooo so much 🤍
